And she whispered, sometimes love is always blogging

We’re excited by the new release from our friends at Darksbane Books! Annathesa Nikola Darksbane, half of the awesome collaborative couple, has just published her first novel, the sci-fi adventure Destiny Abounds! Go check it out at Amazon, and if you read it and like it, be sure to leave a review!

If you missed Willow’s crowdfunding campaign for her debut graphic novel, The Journey Of Earth, you’re in luck! She’s now taking preorders for the book! To get in on the fun, head over to her Facebook page or her DeviantArt gallery and send her a message from there! Do note that shipping will be higher outside of France, and that the book is only available in French…at this moment.

John Kovalic’s charity bike ride for Bike The Barns is just a week away, on September 20. He’s made his pledge goal of $10,000, so he will ride the entire route wearing a duck on his head, but you should still pledge because everyone who donates $20.00 or more gets some awesome swag, and because you have to be a good guy to wear a duck on your head for charity. Give now. Thank you.

And finally, there may be a reason this song is on my mind now, but I won’t be able to explain why for a while. Just remember that it’s better listening if you look away from the video…

  1. First of all I would like to say excellent blog!
I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not
mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself
and clear your mind before writing. I’ve had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost just
trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?

    Appreciate it!

I found this cleaning out my spam filter; I apologize for the delay in answering this! I usually find that the best way to get ready for writing is to think about what’s next – what I need to accomplish in the scene, what the characters are doing or saying. I usually don’t need to clear my mind before starting; when I do, it’s something simple like taking a quick walk or making coffee. Listening to music also helps. Not everything helps everyone, so if these don’t work for you, good luck in finding something that does!
