eFestival of Words!

The 2015 eFestival of Words, the annual online convention for readers and writers, is this weekend! The schedule has been informally announced, and I’ll be involved in two events on Sunday the 16th.

First, my Author Q&A has been scheduled for 8:30 AM Pacific / 11:30 AM Eastern / 5:30 PM CET! Come on by and ask me pretty much anything! If you’re really nice, I may drop some hints about the fifth Monkey Queen book!

And later on Sunday, at 11:00 AM Pacific / 2:00 PM Eastern / 8:00 PM CET, you can attend the “Heroes vs. Villains” panel! Three heroes and three villains from the wild world of literature, answering questions “Family Feud” style, and on the side of the heroes will be Michiko the Monkey Queen herself! She promises to be thoroughly caffeinated and ready to answer questions, be cute, and take everything as unseriously as possible! (Is that even a word?)

There’ll be more panels, Q&A sessions, and workshops all weekend, and there’s an extra incentive to stop by: All attendees (aside from staff and special guests) will be entered into a drawing to win a Kindle Fire HD 6 6″, and you get an extra entry for every Q&A session you enter!

Get more info here, or like the eFestival on Facebook. See you there!

It’s Valentine’s Day here. It’s Tanabata. It’s Qixi. And this—” She swept her arm out. “It’s the Bridge of Magpies. The bridge of birds. Built on love and hope. And that’s why I wanted to bring you to this place on this day.”

“One for sorrow, two for joy.”

When Jiao, a princess from Faerie’s Far Lands, comes to the Wonderland Diner and Tavern looking for help, it’s showtime for the teen hero called the Monkey Queen! Michiko and her best friend and partner in adventure, college student and geek girl Beth McGill, have to rescue the princess’ boyfriend from the minions of a scheming warlord, and then race against time and fend off goblins, ogres and monsters to reach the Bridge of Magpies by the seventh day of the seventh month to fulfill a prophecy.

But Michiko has been hiding something from everyone, even Beth, and no secret is forever. And when that secret is revealed…

Everything will change for Michiko and Beth.

I know there are other things going on, but I like to make anniversary posts something special, so:

There’s a new hero in town, a young woman who calls herself Redblade, with a magic sword and a knack for finding trouble. Michiko, the Monkey Queen, couldn’t be happier…but her partner Beth is feeling envious.

Meanwhile, Beth has made a new friend, Abigail Drake, a fangirl who may be attending Beth’s college…and Michiko is feeling jealous.

But Abby has a secret…she is Redblade.

And that secret, and the sword she carries, may lead to the Monkey Queen’s doom.

Redblade. Monkey Queen Book Five. Fall 2015.
