And Sunday catchup is back! My apologies for missing last week. I had two things going on – finishing the latest draft of Copper Cove, and trying not to melt during the monster heat wave that California had going over the Labor Day weekend. Holy cats, was it hot. There are a few goodies after the cut, but first, this update: Copper Cove has been sent to two beta readers; one has finished and given some useful feedback, and the other should be done shortly. The cover designer is hard at work. With any luck, I’ll be able to announce a publication date sometime this week. Click for more!
There’s more good news on the writing front: I know what I’ll be working on after Copper Cove comes out. No announcements yet, as plans can and do change, but I suspect many of you will be quite pleased.
We’re now less than a month away from Gaslight Expo, San Diego’s steampunk convention! I’ve made my plans to attend; I won’t be a guest, but I should be quite findable if you’re there and wish to chat. And I now have a key piece of my con wardrobe in place (though it still desperately needs some hemming):
Gaslight Expo is shaping up to be a corker. There’ll be a large dealers room, a puzzle room, dancing Friday and Saturday nights, and an ice cream social Sunday afternoon. Madame Askew will be there, along with the Grand Arbiter, and they will be hosting Saturday tea, judging teapot racing, and getting into all sorts of shenanigans. And the guest of honor is legendary author Tim Powers! Click here for more info and to get tickets.
And finally, I’ve acquired a much-needed accessory for my Usagi Yojimbo collection…
